    Abstract

The aim of the study is adapt the HPB-K (Korean version of the Helicopter Parenting Behavior) developed by Schiffrin et al. to the Korean situation and test its reliability and validity. The numbers of subjects were 172 college students living in three cities in Gyungbuk province were tested. And all the data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 programs. As a result, 3 subscales were obtained through exploratory factor analysis. In confirmatory factor analysis, the validity of the scale was verified as the model fitness was acceptable. The three subscales were 3 items of proxy decision making, 2 items of involvement, 3 items of hovering. As a result of the reliability test, Cronbach's α was confirmed to be .75, and the HPB-K scale was verified as a usable scale
